The Hut Trip

Location

Aspen, Colorado, U.S.A

Cost

$38 U.S.D / per head

Description

The Fritz Benedict Hut, 12 out 10 can recommend.

A non-traditional & sloppy adventure shown in these curated photos of our team of 10.. The charge was lead by our trusted Australian sisters 8 hours up-hill to finally find our hut off the very old & interesting Smugglers Road [real name, not an actual road.]  To our luck, the 2 night tenants in the Fabi Hut next door to us, were full Local Lords from Woody Creek [the longtime hometown to Hunter S. Thompson] just the next village from Aspen. Our joint celebrations lead to a sunset proper disco dance on the roof of our Hut. Although the hike in ruined all of our ideas of big mountain snowboard lines, the outhouse & cabin goodtimes was worth the trek in alone!

Fisherman's Cabin

Location

Bailey, Colorado, U.S.A

Cost

$128 USD

Description

The Fisherman’s Cabin has a wild and unique history beginning with a tuff shed in the 70's. Originally it was built by two professors from Berkeley College as an annual mountain campsite. They used to make the pilgrimage every year from California to Colorado to come relax in the wonderful forest of the Lost Acres National Park. Just down Insmont Dr. at the turn of the century, the Denver Wheel Club used to have their headquarters right next to the river and hosted a big bike race every year. This was before there was even a road to enter the mountains, and the only real public access to these lands were via the Train from Denver!
